GEMSTONE & JEWELRY CARE INFORMATION...
What gemstones & metals do you work with?
LAINE jewelry is always crafted from recycled & pre-produced solid metals, you will never see our jewelry created with gold, silver or platinum plated, gold vermeil or filled metals.
We do not use imitation or lab-created gemstones. Our gemstones are all natural stones, and those that are treated have only permanent, industry standard treatments like heat treatment and irridation. The diamonds used in our jewelry are purchased from certified conflict-free sources. Unless stated as "natural" the pearls used in our designs are cultured, we never use imitation or faux pearls.
Proper gemstone disclosure is very important to us, if you ever have any questions about the gemstones used in any LAINE designs please do not hesitate to contact us.
What is "Oxidized Silver" and how do I care for it?
All of our oxidized silver jewelry is solid sterling silver which has been "antiqued". This is the same tarnish that forms on silver jewelry if you let it sit for a long time without wearing or polishing it, but we speed up this process and create a uniform dark grey or black finish on the surface. With care this finish will last a long time, but please keep in mind if you use a polishing cloth or chemical cleaner on your oxidized jewelry the dark finish will fade or be removed.
